Gucci Princetowns for Work
Hey all,
I'm a 1st year analyst at a small-desk AM firm with ~3b AUM. Only about 7 of us in total. I was wondering how professional or unprofessional the Gucci Princetowns are (they are the Gucci horsebit loafer slides (i.e. no back, just the front half of the shoe, like a slipper and fur lined back).
I currently wear the much more subtle Gucci Jordaans in black and brown (cognac) but the Princetowns are incredibly comfortable and are possibly my favorite shoe.
Are these workplace appropriate? We're business casual and my daily dress is a dress shirt and suit pants/trousers with the Jordaans. No tie, no jacket unless we have super big clients coming in.
They wouldn't be a daily thing - probably only when I wear black pants vs my normal navy blue.
Thx
100% acceptable. Make sure you get the fur insulated ones to match your mink scarf
I've always felt the Princetown's really only cut it if they have the Tiger. No tiger, maybe they're suitable for casual Fridays.
I'd avoid wearing glorified slippers to the office, especially as a man. Women can get away with it, depending on the shop.
Stick to the mocs or loafers
Throw on a Supreme logo to top it off
Yes, they are OK for work! But to achieve maximum levels of debonairness/stylishness with Princetowns, you would have to find trousers that reasonably sit above the ankle, at the very least, or around 3/4 capri-style trousers for the office.
Best of luck.
I have never seen a straight man wear backless loafers outside of his house (as slippers). You must be trolling.
I would rock them with some classic Nantucket Reds shorts, mudslide optional. This will tell your bosses that you value relaxation as much as hard work.
I have no idea if anyone on here is in the market for these since I know they're discontinued, but I'm selling mine in NYC, 8.5 (so 9-9.5 regular shoe). Worn them 5-6 times and just don't like them. https://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/gucci-classic-leather-horsebit-loafer-bl…
