Is it appropriate to wear a Rolex GMT as an analyst?
Thinking about buying one - either the Pepsi, Sprite or Batman. Would this be too flashy as an analyst?

Do good work and vast majority of individuals won't give a shit
no one cares. have an analyst that wears a patek nautilus
They will care if you act like it’s anything more than a watch. Are you comfortable buying one given you / your family’s wealth? If yes, buy one.
The only people who will notice / care is if you treat it as anything more than a piece of metal that tells time on your wrist.
just don’t be a douche. you can have nice things but not be douchey about it.
No one cares
Some places do. Cultures vary widely.
GMTs / divers generally look like crap with a suit due to bezel design / dial size, although there are some brands / references that could be pulled off in a formal setting. Highly suggest leaving the GMT for weekends as it'll be sure to attract unwanted attention in the office. Nothing wrong with a flex piece but the office isn't the place to do it when everyone there makes more money than you. If you want a Rolex that's more versatile / conservative and in the same budget range, consider opting for a Datejust, Milgauss, or better yet a Cellini / 1908 (new model).
Seconded. Rule of thumb is to not out-flex your boss and/or your client.
Well said - the GMT (particularly the Pepsi) is great for the weekend outfit (white t-shirt / chinos) but looks a little out of place when paired with a suit. I would probably lean more towards being on the conservative side as an Analyst while in the office in order to not draw unnecessary attention to yourself. Still get the watch but just be select about where you wear it.
My general line of thinking is: if you feel like you have to ask, the answer is likely no, thus it would best to not wear it.
Generally no one cares. My opinion is those 3 models are a bit flashy for any junior to wear to work, the above recommendations on more conservative models are correct. but do what you want and don't be weird about it. You won't be the only person at training with a Rolex
High risk and low reward.
People who stay in IB like to use their elbows and pick on stuff like that.
Keep it cool, stay true to yourself, and let your wrist do the talking, okay?
The answer is simple: Wear it if you like it. If someone comments on it say thanks.. but unlikely anyone will.
Clear cut case of nobody cares.
