I can make a mobile version of this website. It's not gonna be like facebook app, but I doubt you need a real app for WSO. Mobile version of the website should be enough.

Moderators, feel free to PM me w/ ideas or questions. During one of my internships I've made a website for tiny brokerage firm (boss's friend is the owner). To be honest, mobile version is much easier to make than the full version.

WSO has helped me A LOT, hence I can make the website for free.

Here are examples of mobile websites (mainly made for iPhones) fmylife.com vs mobile.fmylife.com digg.com vs m.digg.com iphone.cbsnews.com

When is the WSO apps going to be launched, I found the site to be very helpful and most often I am unable to have excess to system. My job involves me to move from one place to another.

hey, careful what you offer ;-)

We actually have avoided a WSO app since we've made the site mobile adaptive and I can't think of anything that an "app" would have that the mobile site doesn't provide?

Am I missing something here? everyone says "you need an app"...but I never get a straight answer why or how it would be superior to the mobile site?

Yes.. notifications are a big reason to have an app (not just for SB or MonkeyS**t, but also stuff like "happy hour today near your office at 6 pm" or "webinar on 'the right way to throw monkeysh*t'' starting in 5 minutes").. having a next gen (or should I say contemporary) user experience is another. I have an iPhone and I have sporadic issues loading the WSO website irrespective of network availability - which is what prompted my post in the first place. I realize that the main challenge is to maintain coherent versions of the website and the app but you gotta figure the extra $$ from (presumably) an increase in mobile traffic & boost in attendance of other events.
