No shit shitlock. That's why it should have its own forum. That way, I can ask questions for people actually working in the industry and won't have to post shit on the i-banking bullpen to get a response you derp dee derp da teetlley derpee derpee dumb.
Big 4 Accounting Guide to Getting Hired Contains interview questions, exactly how to answer, resume guide, how to make an impact and a guide to the firms and service lines.
If you would rather be in the back office than doing stuff like GE FMP or other finance rotation programs, then urine idiot. I know Corporate Finance isn't as sexy as HF/PE, but don't make retarded comments like that either because you'll come off as another HYP-douche who thinks anything outside of GSTMT or McKinsey is beneath them. Some people actually enjoy this stuff or have goals besides making money ya know?
To the guy that says wall street or bust, urine idiot too. Consulting, entrepreneurship, etc. are not wall street, but have their own forums. There's enough of a demand for corporate finance questions that I'm sure it would get reasonable traffic.
I'm not an admin, but I do patrol the site fairly regularly. As someone who's been in CF at a F500 for a little while now I typically try to help when relevant. I'm pretty busy right now (interview for promotion tomorrow!), but am always willing to help.
Even though their isn't a dedicated forum, we can definitely have good conversation.
btw - I've never worked for GE, but we hire a lot of ex-GE people, the FMP program is a GREAT way to launch a career.
accountingbyday: is it true that most of the work people do in corporate finance is actually accounting? If so, why do they hire people with a finance background and not just exclusively hire accounting majors like the big 4? I understand that accounting is important in finance, but if the work you do is basically internal audit, why bother with finance/econ majors at all and just hire bean counters?
Sorry to bring this back up, but I might have an alternative solutions. Seeing as how this website focuses on careers in "high finance"/on Wall Street, why not make a new, partner forum for other finance careers utilizing the same model?
I'm sure as Patrick has undoubtedly noticed, there are a number of people on here interested in corporate finance and others that post that are in the industry. You could make a separate website with stuff like corp dev, corp strat, accounting, etc (maybe even in-house law). You could use exactly this site (maybe change the colors a little, and the logo obviously), just with a different domain name.
WSO serves a niche, so this wouldn't detract from the people interested in "regular" finance jobs. You could make a new forum (like I-Banking Bullpen) on WSO that instead of opening up a list of threads, takes you to the other site's forums, and vice versa. As there is surely a larger number of people looking for jobs in the "regular" finance industry, you're going to, over time, get a lot larger of a member base. It should also boost the WSO numbers as it will introduce people to these prestigious jobs that would previously not have had a clue about them.
Just some more thoughts for you. On the technical side it should be easier because you're just rebuilding this site with a different name, maybe slightly different look, so you can reuse the code. Maybe I'm oversimplifying it, but I think it could potentially be something that someday every undergrad business major, MBA, finance masters, and corporate law student would use.

Ya id like a CF forum too. F500 sounds like a great alternative for those who want to have a life outside of work.

I agree. I think there should be a CF and RE forum.
Corporate Finance sure as fucking hell isn't BO.
Yes, I would be very interested in a CF forum
Here's a topic for discussion: what does an FP&A analyst at a F500 company do?
