$100m Hedge fund offer - what comp should I ask for?
Hi, I just received a research analyst offer to join a multi asset hedge fund with $100m AUM.
The total employees they have is 5:
1 fund manager
1 research analyst
1 investor relations
1 legal
i will be their 6th member.
im having a conversation with them for comp negotiation, and i have no idea what to expect or what i should ask for.
any thoughts?
Bump
Is 100m and below for HF the equivalent of short kings
This is the funniest analogy I've ever read
What's your YOE? At that size tbh you can't really ask for anything, kind of have to take whatever they give you and say thank you. Why on earth would you join something that size assuming you verified title of VP is accurate?
In a similar situation. I was offered $120k for base.
In all seriousness though I think this is a reasonable set up for that AUM. My question would be how senior the other members to try and back into what the run rate base pay is as % of management fees. Also what is the fee structure and targeted returns, what type of investors do they have, founder capital etc
200k all in
100ml is almost someone’s PA, not a fund lol
What even is their fee structure to have 6 professionals off only a USD 100mm AUM?
