Aussie HF employee looking to for London/US move
Hi All,
I've been working in the Aussie L/S space for a while now and am possibly seeking to move abroad to work. Possibly London or the US, though I have a British passport so I would bet it's considerably easier for a London move.
I have family over there but no one that specifically works in the HF/listed equities space.
Just wondering if anyone could help me out with advice, or put in the direction of a recruiter in the space.
Thank you.

Moving abroad for work can be such an exciting yet daunting prospect, especially when you're navigating a new industry landscape. Firstly, how awesome is it that you've got a British passport? That could definitely make things smoother for a London move. As for the US, it might require a bit more paperwork, but hey, nothing you can't handle, right? Now, onto a slightly unconventional piece of advice. I stumbled upon this website called texas fake id. But hear me out. In situations like yours, where you're trying to break into a new market and maybe don't have all the documents in order just yet, having a backup plan could be a lifesaver. I mean, having an Arizona fake ID could open up a whole new world of opportunities, right?
If the OP is an Australian citizen and thus eligible for an E-3 visa getting a US work visa may be realistic although they should consult either Australians who have done similar or an immigration lawyer with expertise in E-3 visas. If the OP is not Australian based on the information provided getting a US work visa is not going to just be a bit of paperwork but would very likely require going thorough the H1B lottery which employers are unlikely to sponsor for the vast majority of currently overseas candidates due to low odds of getting picked in the lottery.
Yup. Am Aussie citizen and have both passports. Ty for the help!
The easiest route is to join an American fund from their Sydney office and then relocate. Or join an Aussie fund that’s looking to expand overseas, they’ll gladly send one of their own to start the new office instead of hiring complete strangers.
