Best Masters for Macro HF in London
What would be the best graduate programme to break into a Macro HF in London.
I have a strong background in both econ and quant. However, no relevant work experience. Was thinking of targeting mphil econ.
What are the top programmes for breaking to macro hf roles? Any other advice on positioning myself? What are potential routes I could take (Sellside macro research? S&T? ER? Any other alternatives?)
Thanks
I don't think ER is going to be useful lol
What abt organizations like ECB, Bank of England, IMF, World Bank. Is it possible to break in from there? Or rather unrealistic?
Def not possible id say
Ignore this clown- macro HFs have loads of folks with these backgrounds
S & T rates/FX/commods maybe, anything macro more useful than ER, something like STIR rates, it's mostly prop trading anyway just a warm up for a macro shop
Also depends whether u want to go into discretionary or systematic macro, if systematic genuinely an Econ and maths masters may be more useful, definitely need the maths, if not getting work experience at a good macro desk more important
Maths and Stats. I worked for 3 macro HFs in London
what about econ?
