Bridgewater --> Macro Funds
Hi everyone, Just wondering whether Bridgwater is a good place to start if one plans to do macro all his life but aims to become a PM at a MMHF?

bridgewater only cares about macro. Very top down idk what you are saying. They also invest in rates and FX products. Credit is a macro tool for them. To OPs question, LinkedIn has two people who went to Element and Citadel GFI, but both had 7+ years of exp. Likely you can only make the move once you are in a risk taking position, which takes a long time/can never happen at bridgewater.

From what I understand about Bridegwater, I’d say it’s not really a great training ground. Their structure is unique and very process-driven/research-oriented (vs. what you’d want is more market facing with a singular decision maker who you can learn from).
