Don’t feel I fit in HF industry

Hey, some rantings and feel I should just go to corporate. Just wonder any other career paths I can pursue?

Having been with SM for a few years and we focus on long but do short too. I think the work is interesting but I don’t feel I am really passionate enough about the public market to compensate for all the shortcomings of this career, including always getting up early (earlier than sellside), never having a true vacation because always having to keep an eye on coverage, sometimes weekend because of all kinds of conferences, so many last minute things. I don’t mind working long hours too much but never stop mode is just so exhausting. Our bonus is like 30-50%.

I am not a super money driven person so passing a threshold income level is good enough for me. Maybe it also makes me not perfectly suitable for this industry?

Have you thought about looking at family offices? You'll still look at publics but the wlb is markedly better
