End of Year Bonus
I am a junior investment analyst at a small hedge fund (~50M AUM). I joined the fund since May after finishing my master in finance. My base is 60k plus 10-100% bonus according to the contract. The fund had a good year so far with 22% return. Any guess how much I would get for the end of year bonus? Thanks!
Assuming 22% means outperforming the market / in line with expectations - you should be compensated at the higher end of your spectrum which already is reasonably low.
Just set expectations at the mid-point of your range and I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Does your comp increase significantly at the next level?
$50mm is more "tiny" than it is small... $200mm is what's considered small
I interned for a FA in college that had $40mm. He was independent, I too consider less than $150-200mm tiny.
