L/S equity HF London - what salary should I negotiate?

$2bn L/S SM equity global with strong track, not market neutral, <10 IPs. Would be working beneath one of the sector's heads.

I have 4yrs of exp (all buyside, both LO & L/S), CFA & CAIA, working in small HF out of UK.

What salary would be fair to expect? Is £120k-130k range reasonable? How would you set the terms for the bonus?

Base is reasonable from what I've seen (have friends in other slightly larger SMs). I would ask about a minimum bonus and then how the bonus will be calculated. If the answer is "discretionary", ask what you need to do or what the path is to get a revenue share / LTIP.

Are you aware of other SMs hiring? Thanks

Thanks appreciated - I've seen salaries for MM at £150k but on SMs there is less info around.

Did see very little hiring this year and conversations had with headhunters were mostly a waste of time. I saw plenty of positions within the MM space.

I know PrimeStone was hiring this year (activist HF), but didn't come across many others.
