MM HF dinner budget
This shouldn’t be a secret given the size of these funds, but what’s the dinner budget for places like Citadel, P72, Millenium? I understand that they provide lunch in cafeterias for employees but wondering what’s for dinner :)
EDIT: Ok it looks like I'm getting a lot of flack for just asking a question and being curious. I'm literally just curious that's all. I'm not using this info to inform any decision making on my part. I do not and will never have an offer at a pod shop.
Glad we are finally asking the important questions
Probably $20-30 but if your pod underperforms by 50 bps on a market and factor neutral basis that week you are forced to eat human faeces until morale improves
These are the perks to live for haha! In all seriousness I would've expected a higher budget than $20-30 for these BSDs
There’s got to be at least 500 people on the forum that have eaten a Citadel comp’d meal at one point in time
fyi I've never heard of free dinner, but if you're that desperate for free food just have a broker take you out lol. Also probably comes out of your pnl at the end of the year anyways
I'm sure it does, but at least you get a 50% discount on it essentially
They aren’t paying you to have Masa delivered just because your comp is high. You want 3 Michelin stars? Go out to eat. It isn’t like that’s the perk that people are looking at. “Here is your $2mm bonus” analyst: “I’ll take $1mm if you can up my dinner budget to $50, I’m really tired of having to use my CC when ordering”
This is why OP will forever be a small time nobody. Trying to add up the nickels and dimes he can save instead of understanding the value of that seat is that you can make 7-digits possibly 8-digits before you sprout your first grey hair.
(London based) Have a few friends who I meet up with for lunch and we go out to eat in the square mile, at Millenium, Bridgewater etc. None eat in their cafes. They are always out at the local restaurants eating, and most don't like the food served up in the cafe anyways. Dude you're earning 6figs+, why are you crying about free food?
theres no dinner budget
I work at one of those. Same as most ($30) but have to work 12+ hours and after 8 or 9 (don’t remember which). So, I never use it
I work at one of those. I don't have a dinner budget because I'm generally out between 5:30-6 o clock. I do get in early (7-7:30) and get lunch comped up to $25. As others have said, I'm happy to buy my own dinner in exchange for 1. being off work at that time and 2. getting a larger bonus.
No food budget at current firm. At prior firm, we had optional "discounted" lunch that no one ever ate.
Have catered breakfast and lunch. No dinner budget
Citadel just upped from $25 to $35 today, coincidentally.
That’s so random. Most firms upped that crap at the beginning of the return to office to incentive people if they were going to change perks at all. Citadel’s analysts have been back in the office since last summer. $35 is a lavish meal tho. My not-a-pod shop is $30.

What is it today? 40-50?
Screw the lunches and dinners, at my MM you get a whopping $150 daily meal budget when traveling for work. Get a few guys together and that's one regular sized grey goose bottle at the club. (Models come separately and cost much more.)
Our daily meal budget during travel days is $300. No joke.
