MS IED vs RJ INDUSTRIALS IBD (SA25)
Which one is better if want to go MM long/ short. I know they are not ideal for pod shop, but which has highest re recruit potential.

Is this ranked by high-> low probability?
Yes.
I will caveat this with the fact that I'm EMEA based where there's a much greater amount of preference for ER than in the states (so this thread leads to me believe)
Obviously wouldn’t expect looks from the top pods but id think it’s doable if you can get to ER first and then try to recruit for a tier 2/3 pod
Quite a few ER ppl at top pods lol?
From good ER sure, but op made it seem like that wasn’t the case
But another interesting nugget not a ton of people are talking about - caught up with a few biz dev and HH contacts - at the junior analyst level, the big2-3 pods are actually starting to hire less ER guys and more bankers / PE / LO juniors. My guess is that juniors at top banks and PE tend to be a bit higher quality candidates, and a lot more of them are looking to exit to the top pods now instead of some of the more other routes
Thanks for feedback.
You think national stock pitch comp wins (umich, fundamental edge, McGill) would help?
Absolutely no one will care about college competitions, those end up being a sham. And they seem like they’re judged by no-bodies.
College kids do them and just end up painting fake pictures. If anything it’s detrimental to your process / development as an investor. Just focus on gaining conviction yourself, not trying to lie to/persuade a judge. Things just differently irl
