Valuation -> IB -> Hedge Fund

Hi guys,

I recently graduated college from a non target with a 3.5-3.6 GPA. I am working as a Valuation Analyst at a reputable valuation shop and am looking to lateral to Investment Banking at a boutique or MM and then again to a BB. From there I plan to recruit for top hedge funds. By the time I get to a BB, I will have been 3-4 years out of college. I know investment banking at a BB to a top hedge fund is a common route, but I would be 4 years out of college by then, not 1-2 years. Does that matter to hedge fund recruiters? Should I just go from Valuation -> ER -> Top Hedge Fund if that's the case?
