Are Asians diversity?

Was curious if Asians are considered diversity at any bank? Specifically, SouthEast Asians such as Indians? I know usually Asians are high represented at banks.

Nope, otherwise there would be a separate diversity recruiting channel for pan-Asian minorities lol. We are already proportionally over-represented in top-tier universities and professions with high-earnings potential.

No we r not in the same pool. We are below them, as in we're literally penalized/discounted, whether explicitly or subconsciously during the interview process, for being Asian/Indian whereas Whites, although they don't get any bonus points like diversity hires, also don't get penalized + they may benefit from legacy/nepotism which Asians don't. There was a diversity hierarchy/pyramid posted a while ago and we're at the bottom RIP.

It would depend how the question is meant:

- If HR sends out their survey about ethnic representation and statistics, YES, Asians should tick the box if they feel comfortable doing so.
- For diversity programs, they can also join if they feel like the program is a match. But I have never seen one for Indians specifically to be honest.

If a diverse candidate is part of another diversity group (i.e. LGBTx), they could either join both groups or none or just one.

While Indians are normally over-represented in some employment markets like the US, Canada or the UK, they might be under-represented in others .

Nope - also why I’ve never come across incompetent Indians or East Asians in this industry. They don’t qualify for the standard diversity programs that tend to have variable standards and they don’t benefit from nepotism (whose beneficiaries also vary dramatically in ability), which at this point still largely consists of white folks though this is likely to change in due time as the Indians/ East Asians benefit their own children

The only correct answer that most people can't handle. I can already hear the libtards on their march to cancel u.
