Big 4 Soph Internship to IB??
Current freshman at semi target (target on the west coast) looking to get into IB in NY/LA/SF. Just got an offer for summer 2025 for an introductory internship program at a big 4 firm and the offer expires in a few weeks. I already have a PWM internship this summer at a local firm.
Should I accept this or try to get something finance-specific for my sophomore summer? I’m diversity if that helps.
I was in a similar position and got a top banking offer. However, if you have strong diversity (not just like a gay white guy) then you can probably do better.
Hahah yea I do, will probably take that advice

You don’t have anything better to do than reply to undergrads on an investment banking circle jerk? I said I am diversity if that helps, not that I’m wildly under-qualified and need a hiring program to make my way into IB.

Imagine being an Associate and taking time out of the day to try and knock down on a freshman undergrad asking for genuine advice on IB - get a life or go turn comments for your VP.
It’s the way the system is now so why would people not exploit it? You’re probably the same type of person that would argue this for tax loopholes so I don’t understand this reasoning.
I was in a similar position as you. Go ahead and take the offer and reneg if anything. I’m a freshman who has accepted a Big 4 consulting offer for sophomore summer and am still recruiting for sophomore summer. I am not worried about burning a bridge with a Big 4 firm.
Right + b4 sophomore internship to a more finance related internship is very common.
