Can't Find Full-Time Work - Advice Needed

Ignore employment info, I'm a 4th-year (technically 5th-year as I deferred) undergrad studying finance at a non-target in Canada. I graduate this December.

My profile is as follows:

  • 3.6 GPA @ Canadian Non-Target
  • IB internship @ MM boutique (return offer but firm on hiring freeze as they're very small and can't easily take on new analysts)
  • Summer internship @ B5 Canadian bank (not capital markets-related role)
  • Management Consulting internship @ large consulting firm (Didn't like MC, this experience isn't on my resume but it's on my LinkedIn)
  • M&A internship @ global MM M&A firm (no return offer)

I network almost 24/7 but I'm struggling to even get first-round interviews for full-time gigs.

Any advice is appreciated.

If you don't have an IB fulltime offer and your leads are dried up, I'd recommend something that's IB adjacent, such as transaction advisory, audit, consulting, etc. It's a tough time in the market right now, so you're definitely not the only one in your situation.

Also, I'd be interested to hear where you're based out of - there's typically a regional boutique or two that seem to always need people and can provide you experience needed to lateral

Didn't see your comment, I'm from Toronto but going to a school that isn't in Toronto if that's helpful. Real non-target ville.

Located in Toronto as well and interned previously at a no name boutique IB. Your experiences are great and if you reach out and network with the boutiques (reach out to all and don't be picky as time is running out) you'd have a great shot as long as they're hiring. Your pay won't be anything great though since the boutiques pay really low with the exception of a few.
