Cold email subject lines for lateral from outside of industry?

Trying to lateral from different finance role. How would you approach cold emailing if there are not that many warm connects (family, friends, alumni). There are few places I’m interested in.

Trying to keep it brief, would you suggest attaching resume so it’s straight to the point, not to waste bankers time?

Appreciate any additional feedback as well!

Subject lines aren't really worth using too much brain-space on. You're overoptimizing at a certain point / everybody knows what it's about. Just be to the point, and agree attaching resume (or at least LinkedIn link in your signature block) is a good idea.

Beyond the warm connects you mentioned, I recommend reaching out to "alumni" of your firm or people who made a similar transition. Just get LinkedIn Premium and search past company = KPMG, EY, FTI, etc. + current company = Goldman (or wherever). Those people should be a lot more likely to speak with you given they can empathize with the transition and will likely be able to provide more targeted advice for your search.

Good luck!
