FOF or IB

Hi folks,

I need a little help here. Currently evaluating between a tier 1 FoF offer NYC and a European BB offer HK.

My major concern is the exit. Have heard on this forum that FOF will pigeonhole you, but what if I can get some exposure to co-vestment and secondaries?

Also, I like NYC over HK and think it might open up a wider and more opportunities to me even I am with FOF side?

Apparently, FOF has better life style and the pay is actually in line with what I will get at the BB as 1st year analyst.

TBH, I personally lean to FOF, but it’s just I have paid so much efforts to get me in IB and don’t want to choose poorly. So what do you guys think? Any thoughts are appreciated.

P.S. I am not a U.S. citizen and don’t know if that will be a concern for me if I work in FOF in NYC.
