Goldman Sachs Compensation Questionnaire

Interviewed for a Risk Associate position for GS, had super positive experiences and a callback with MD / Partner. Didn't hear anything for a few days then got a call from HCM telling me to fill out a compensation questionnaire in the GS portal. Is this a sign that HCM is generating an offer for me pending a background check or am I getting ahead of myself here?

Hi Axon47, whoops, looks like nobody chimed in here.... maybe one of these discussions below is relevant:

I didn't receive an offer, but completed all the rounds and asked to fill in the comp forms. They said 1-2 weeks. It's week 2 now so i guess i have more time. At this point i think they would could come back with an offer or no offer at all. Is your situation the same?

Hi,

My situation is the same and it is exactly two weeks since I filled the compensation questionnaire. I had filled the compensation questionnaire on 15th March, so I'm still waiting for their reply. Please let me know if you hear from them and I'll let know once I hear back from them.

that's right. the HR rep from HCM when they call to review your comp form and go over your resume was the last call I had with them. They said "between 1-2 weeks" so I am just starting week 2. They did ask me what my expectations are for that role. They were not very transparent with the salary range at all. you would think they would get this at the start so no time is wasted on both sides. In your case since it's been 2 weeks (which is appropriate for follow up) reach out to that HCM person who you spoke to inquiring if they have made any decisions (from what i have been reading). I will reach out at the end of my 2 week if i have not heard anything. In my case they also know i have another interview in the late stages (this is true). Except now both are in the "silent" stages in the end.

From what i read about filling this comp forms...most people got offers and most just simply did not hear back.  Although there was this other case on glassdoor below....kind of shtty to have to go through this. Worried about this myself, but please do keep me posted and will do the same

A few days after the superday, the ultimate recruiter for the position reached out to me and informed me that all three divisions wanted to move forward to the offer stage. At this point, you are required to complete a compensation questionnaire. This is a VERY extensive and detailed form asking compensation for the last 3+ years. It took about 1 hour to complete. Make sure that this is completed as accurately as possible. They asked that I also attached W-2s, 401k statements, and anything else that could be provided as supporting documentation.

A few days after I completed the compensation questionnaire, I was informed that my compensation requirements were above the range for two of the positions, so they were not able to make me an offer, even though they wanted to. What I learned is that Goldman will not make you an offer that is less than your current compensation, as this could reflect badly on the firm's reputation.

The third position they then tried to get upgraded to a more senior position, so it would be more in line with my compensation. But after about a week they were not successful in doing this so. So once again, my compensation was already above the range. The recruited communicated to me that I was a good "fit" for the organization and they would keep me in mind for future positions. This was very encouraging. But I have since accepted an offer from another firm - so it's a moot point. But I still appreciate the feedback.

Any news in regards to an offer? I received a CQ a few days after my super day, and then received an email from HCM to schedule a phone call. Im not sure what the phone call will entail, but I feel like it could go either way at this point. The only positive indicator I did see was that the email stated "that they thought highly of me", so I am hoping that it will be good news, but then again I have no idea.

Does anyone know the timeline to receive the CQ? Its been a few weeks for me and not sure if anyone has received it after a few weeks from their last round...

I notice everyone posting they got the compensation questionnaire but not updating on whether or not they got an actual offer. Can someone kindly post on whether an offer was given. Thanks

I went through the GS process a few months ago and 2 weeks after getting the comp form I got an offer. It usually takes a few weeks after the superday especially for lateral positions because they need to clear hiring forms and get senior sign-off so I’d say you just need to be patient
