IB in Bombay

I have an MM banking offer from Bombay, and since I'm originally from India and it's a fairly reputable bank, I'm giving it serious consideration.
However, I've never been exposed to the banking culture in India. Does anyone know how exactly it differs from the US especially at the summer analyst level? How is Bombay specifically for interns?

The finance industry is very immature in India. For example, most middle-class people don't get mortgages to buy a house. They save 100% cash and buy a "flat" (condo).

The party scenein Mumbai is pretty intense. Almost anywhere else in India, it's pretty lame by U.S. standards.

Unfortunately, that's all I've got for you. My advice would be to take it so you have "international experience", and get your ass back here for at least the early part of your career, so that if you ever go back, you'll be "from the U.S." and hence on a U.S. payscale.

When it comes to experience, is it likely that I will get a good experience for a sophomore internship? I understand that deal flow won't be as large as a US bank though.. but I'm hoping that the skills will be comparable to what I would get at a bank here

I guess the biggest difference is culture - for instance here in London I'd address my MD with his first name whereas in India you'd dare not do that - probably be Mr or Mrs xyz...

Any idea what things I should know before I go there? I'd like to not make a fool of myself, being an Indian attending college in the US

Anybody else have opinions? If there's anything I should start learning I'd like to start now.. I have pretty limited finance/modeling knowledge to be honest
