Hey everyone,
I have heard a wide range of numbers regarding how much money an MD at one of the big Canadian banks can make in TO/MTL/CG/Vancouver.
Would a more senior banker be able to provide me with some "realistic" numbers assuming that the MD is a good performer (not necessarily a rainmaker) and how much would a group head/rainmaker MD generally make?
There is a lot of info for the US, but not so much for Canada

This varies on the group, deal flow, and production by set team. Typically I’ve seen $1-$2M at the Big 5 Banks. If they’re not producing expect the number to be low.
Are you asking about their total compensation or their base salary? The majority of total compensation is in their bonus which is driven by bringing in revenue. I believe base salary is in the range of a couple hundred thousand dollars
