New York dethrones London as Financial Capital
As of March 2010, City of London based GFCI now ranks New York City as tied with London. London dropped and NYC gained points.
The company who compiles information for the GFCI is headquartered in London, but it is considered to be the gold-standard for Finacial Center rankings. Here is an excerpt from a 2008 Business Week article describing some of the methodology of the ranking:
- New York City
- London
- Hong Kong
- Singapore
- Tokyo
- Chicago
- Zurich
- Geneva
- Shenzhen
10.Sydney - Shanghai
^^ hilarious
Are you fucking blind? It says that they are tied. Also, in these sort of situations, ranking is done alphabetically.
Go pick up a fucking dictionary, dumbass.
London is not the financial capital anymore since it is now tied with New York. New York tied with London = New York dethroning London from its title as Financial Capital.
Nobody said New York was now the financial capital.
You forgot number 2.
SELL SELL SELL!
Where's London? Near Dallas?
London was never ahead of New York to begin with despite what your ranking says....
The bigger question is, does any of this actually mean anything for any of us? Hell to the no. It's just some random ranking. Anyone can come up with their own criteria and publish a ranking that says whatever they want it to say.
