Order of Names in a Press Release
I saw this on the First Data Press Release:
"Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch have committed to provide debt financing for the transaction subject to customary terms and conditions, and are acting as financial advisors to KKR. Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is acting as legal advisor to KKR."
Does this rank banks by order of importance in the deal as it is not exactly alphabetical. What does order typically mean in a press release? I just do not know hot to interpret these things.
Thanks
On the prospectus does it also matter which "side" you are on?
Yes, the Bank on the "left" is usually the lead adviser on a deal, while the banks to the "right" are usually co-managers.
