Pls fix: *Rothschild & Co.* or *Rothschild & Co*
In formal writing (such as in a cover letter to a UK office), is the dot after the "Co" routinely added? Would omitting it be considered incorrect? Or would adding the dot be considered incorrect in London?
What you want to do is use the name they have on their website. So it would be "Co" in this case.
Rothschild & Co / R&Co are both correct
Rothschild / Rothschild & Co. are incorrect

Wow, I apparently dodged a bullet by asking this thread
I don't believe anyone would make a hiring decesion based on that😂
I imagine HR might eliminate a candidate because of what is perceived incorrect
So long as you don't use the term "Roths," you'll be fine. Rothschild, Rothschild & Co, and Rothschild & Co. are all absolutely fine. I believe legally they're still N.M. Rothschild - but that would be quite a stretch.
