Consensus on Sophomore Summer

What is the ideal internship for sophomore summer if coming from a non-target non-diversity background? I'm seeing a few threads about aiming for a name-brand BB internship, but all those programs are diversity-oriented. Other threads are recommending not focusing on sophomore summer or pursuing an internship with a boutique firm. Curious to hear the consensus on sophomore summer. What should I do? Aim for name-brand or go for a boutique? What do non-diversity students at target schools do?

Thanks!

(Background: Currently in sophomore first semester with two relevant internships)
