Change name to “Singapore BB IBD Pay”
10k-12.9k, usually same as anl1. Bases have gone up a bit over the last couple of years so the low end may be a bit higher
Thanks for the response.
Im assuming you personally experienced a summer as an analyst at a BB? How was it? When did recruiting start? Am I late lol… and what role does networking play in the process? Is it similar to the US or more like the UK.
Thanks in advance
Yeah I interned there and then did just under 2 years as an analyst. It's very different to the UK and US from what i gather but I haven't been through either of those. Networking is much less important, almost doesn't play a part for the BBs at all. Timing wise the interns should have just started, recruitment is probably in the 2nd half of this year but I don't know for sure so will let others comment
2023 summer analysts at my BB came in last week. Standard training for the first week followed by deal staffing. They have to complete a case study nearing the end of their 10 week programme
Thanks for the reply.
That’s interesting. I hope this isn’t a dumb question but what makes up the case study? Is there any way to prepare for it?
Also just general questions - what are the hours ur Singapore SA are working currently?
Basically a deal pitch (i.e evaluate the potential for a M&A between Companies A and B or whether it is conducive for Company C to IPO in the current market conditions etc.). Hours are shorter now considering they are just staffed but I think 9am to 2/3am would be a good gauge once they are settled in. Unfortunately, the summer programme is meant to stress and stretch them to see who bends and who breaks.
hi, I would love to learn more about your experience. do you mind to dm me?
Adding some rough numbers (SGD/month) from word of mouth just for additional colour, may not be 100% accurate (others can confirm), but most places gave a discount to FT AN1 pay:
GS c.9.6k
UBS c.9k / 7k off-cycle
CS c.10.8k
Citi/BAML/MS 10-11k
JPM c.12k?
Evercore 3k off-cycle (may be outdated)
Rippledot 9k
HSBC - used to be 5k but i think recently bumped up to either FT or slightly lower
interesting. s&t pay is higher. would have thought otherwise
I can confirm that ST pay is higher interestingly. BAML is 13k and HSBC is 9k
im surprised baml is that high, thats above jp/ms right.
pay wise it would seem
1) baml
2) jp/ms
3) citi barc
4) db ubs
5) gs hsbc
