SMU Cox School of Business vs Notre Dame Economics

Hi everyone,

I am a rising sophomore at SMU. I am currently vacillating between transferring to Notre Dame as an economics major or staying at SMU.

Here's how I see it:
At SMU I have already built up a network, I have mentors, I have 2 leadership positions, and I have a 3.925 GPA. I know that I'm at the top of my class, and I have a very competitive chance of getting into the Alts program.

On the other hand, at Notre Dame, I won't be in the business school, but I know that the school's name and network exceeds SMU's. In addition, I know that Notre Dame sends a lot more kids to Chicago and Manhattan, but I will have a lot more competition and I will be nowhere near the top of my class.

I appreciate any feedback, and I look forward to reading your opinions.

Go for ND. I know someone there and they said the alumni are very supportive and they have great representation in all firms. It depends where you want to be. If Houston, then SMU. If NY/CHI, then ND.
