undergrad transfer international non-target to semi-target

Hey, it's my first post on here so I'll just do a brief intro. I'm a female sophomore currently majoring in business administration w/ a minor in IR at a non-target school in the Czech Republic (that no one has heard of, trust me) and am contemplating a transfer to a semi-target (emory gbs) but am having a very hard time deciding for several reasons. I'm interested in IB & recently landed a summer 2023 MM IBD internship that I'm pretty happy about (recruiting was very tricky from prague w/ the time difference, no one else at my uni going through it for guidance, etc) and will be going to Goldman's insight series this summer. So basically I'd say I'm pretty good at promoting myself/ being resourceful/hustling on Linkedin/etc. and present myself professionally. Along with the business major, I'm also on student council, a writing/math tutor, and president of finance club at my uni (think big fish in very small pond). Plus I'm doing an internship at an emerging PE shop currently, and will be interning at amazon in summer 2022 (again- results of a LOT of hustling). I've applied to a few places in the US to transfer (for junior & senior year) because I'm not very happy with the finance curriculum, academic environment, and lack of career opportunities/general mindset of other students at my current school. So far, my top acceptance is Emory Goizueta (I also was accepted into Tulane, but to graduate from freeman I'd need like 3.5 more years in undergrad bc credits are not transferring as I'd hoped, so that's no longer an option) and I'm still waiting to hear back from NYU stern & Georgetown McDonough. Obviously, these schools will all be a) significantly more expensive-tuition and cost of living in prague is VERY cheap & b) more time, as I'd graduate in just one more year at my current uni but need at least 2 more at another school. I would REALLY appreciate any insight/advice on emory (I don't see it come up much on here), and the necessity of transferring to a semi-target as a junior if I've already demonstrated my competency at networking & career pursuits ('22 & '23 internships, PE internship, etc). Will it make a difference re: MBA, promotions, future compensation, etc? Please lmk your thoughts or if you have any questions about my situation. & thanks everyone at wso in general, wouldn't have landed my 2023 offer without it!! :))

Have you considered pursuing a career in Europe or are you dead set on the US?

Only asking as based on your profile you would be a fantastic candidate for a top tier finance masters in Europe (think LBS, HEC, LSE, etc). This would avoid visa issues which are likely to make recruiting from a semi target in the US more of a challenge and allow you to avoid the credit transfer issues you mentioned. Not to mention, while these courses are expensive it would most likely work out cheaper than finishing your undergrad in the US.

Frankly, I see this as your best shot at entering IB and if you then later decide you want to give the US a try you could always transfer to an American office after a few years.

Alternatively, you could try transferring to a European target undergrad for a similar set up if you don’t like the idea of a masters.

Just out of curiosity, are you a Czech student? And also what university in the Czech Republic do you attend? I have family in Prague, so I think I might know.

Your and mine situation has some similarities as I’m also not impressed by the university quality in Czechia.

Although, I did apply for undergraduate study this year, so I don’t have a transfer decision like you.

At first, I was determined about going to the US or the UK. However, given the practicalities and convenience abroad I chose to remain in the EU.

Long story short, I think you would have high change of getting into a “target” European business school (Boconni, University of Amsterdam, HEC Paris etc.). The person commenting below me articulated it nicely.
