As per requested in a comment on an earlier post, below is a pic of YTD 2023 U.S. M&A league tables. Of course, the post should come with the usual disclaimers that league tables should be taken with a grain of salt for a variety of reasons.

What's the cause behind this? Seems they are still hiring seniors aggressively despite the lack of deals
