W-4 Question

I will be starting this Summer as a FT analyst and have a question regarding my W-4. I currently live/reside/studied out-of-state in regards to where I will be working FT. Being that I will be moving there full-time, should I put an address down for where I currently live or where I will live (though I don’t have that figured out yet)??

Also, will I be taxed according to where I live now (out of state) or will I be taxed where I work? For example if I live and put down that I currently live in TX and will work in NYC will I be taxed based on my TX address still or will I be automatically taxed in NYC since that is where I work?

Sorry if these questions are a bit dumb, couldn’t find a great answer online and don’t have anyone else to ask. Thank you

You will be taxed where you work. The address doesn’t really matter, it’s just where the government will send you mail. You can worry about paying real estate taxes when you actually own property, it won’t affect you because you are renting in nyc. Keep in mind, nyc has its own special tax.

Got it, I figured they wouldn’t just charge me texas taxes while being in NY (otherwise everyone would be doing that). Thank you!
