3.4 GPA at Ivy-Target
Hey everyone,
I'm a sophomore at an Ivy Target (Think Cornell, Dartmouth) and am worried about recruiting this year. I'm a Econ + CS major so I have taken tough courseload in comparison to my peers. But, as a result, I have a 3.41 GPA going into the start of recruiting this winter. I know the baseline is at least 3.5, but is it pretty much over for me since I don't have that? I can probably get a 3.5-3.6 by the time Spring rolls around + going to make sure I network and have technicals nailed down, but it's a numbers game and there are going to be the 4.0 Wharton kids out there. Any advice would be appreciated.
First of all relax - people alot less qualified than you have broken into IB. Given you go to a target and study a tougher major than ur standard business, finance, accounting etc. you 100% have a great shot for MMs and BBs. EBs might get a lil trickier unless u really grind ur ass off for networking and/or have a really great story. For reference, I go to a non-target, have a sub 3.5, study a STEM degree and got multiple superdays, just not at EBs. My best recommendation is network like crazy and have a really solid story.
