Acquisition finance Analyst at ING (top Dutch bank) VS M&A Traineeship at Deloitte
Dear all,
I've had two offerings for my first position. Before that, I had an internship in a mid-market law firm a mid-market
CF boutique and a mid-market PE firm in the Netherlands. I've graduated for two majors, one in Business law and one in Financial management. My ambition is to work in PE in 5 years from now, feedback that I have been given was: commercially talented, weaker technical skills. Advice was to strengthen my weakness by having a 2-3 year "technical drilling session" at an investment bank or use your commercial talent and have a more easy path ahead but be less technically equiped.
Which job opportunity will provide me with the best skill-set to be an attractive hire for private equity? I think it is Acquisition finance, but I'm still in a little doubt, because maybe at Deloitte I could really strengthen my commercial and technical skills at the same time, while being able to shift into a strategy consulting role (which is also sought after by PE).
Furthermore, what financial modelling course would you guys advice to prepare for the analyst role?
Hope someone could help me with this little dilemma!
I wan't to decide on monday.
Best,
Thomas
