Advice

For context I am in my early 20s and am located in NYC area.

I could really use some advice/ hard truth about what I should do. I graduated from a non target school in 2022 and joined one of the bigger investment banks on the wealth management side. I had interned there during my summers (| graduated in 3 years, one summer was covid and the other two I was there) and when I was offered to move into an advisor role partnered with a large advisor I did it. Fast forward 18 months and I hate my job. I am basically told I need to sell to family and friends, find people to bring on as clients (which when I was originally pitched the job I was told I was entering more as a relationship manager) and overall have a terrible work life.

I am in a small remote office with only a few other guys mostly at the end of their career and I have found myself in a rut. This has really driven me to a point where I dread work every day and feel like there is no future for me in finance. I want to move into something else, but really have no experience. I am realistic and realize I am not getting into IB, and am not getting anywhere close to that.

I don't know what to do though, as I have considered many times maybe just dropping finance all together. I have applied to lots of jobs both at finance firms and non finance firms as analyst and really have had no luck. Any advice is appreciated.

Non target school- 3.0 GPA 2.5 years at large investment bank as associate/advisor 1 summer as investment intern at small family fund
