Advice from experts in IB

I’m from Italy, graduated from a public university in Business Administration, actually work in Deloitte (Audit), 25 yo, and my plan was always work in IB.
My question is.. is it worth study again and gain an MSc Finance or it is better to do really hard networking sessions and send many applications? My goal is work in IB outside Italy so in every country in Europe is ok.
Thank you in advance for your time.

I have a similar background story as you. I studied at the top BS at my home country with an exchange program at a top european BS. Currently I am finishing my master’s in another top European BS.
If your goal is to go into IB and you speak the language of the country you want to work, you shall apply for that masters (in a top uni) in order to gain relevant experience while studying and then secure a full time position.
Otherwise you should focus on learning the language, unless your goal is London, for which I assume you are English fluent.
My takeaway is: Language > University in order to get relevant experience, once you have the experience, the other factors lose relevance.

He pretty much has to go to Bocconi or an equivalent as he’ll be pooled with them most likely as he’s an Italian. Otherwise his background will make it very hard unless they recruit for specifically accountants by trade.
