Breaking into wall street/the City
hello
I'm a student of economics from spain with a GPA of 3.3. I'm studying in a local university. actually I'm in the 3rd year of the degree so the next is going to be the last one. I want to focus my career on finance and I have some doubts regarding to the netx step:
- this summer I'm going to study to take the GRE and the TOEFL
- at the beggining of the next academic year I'm going to learn some programming because I would like to achieve a position as a quant. ( regarding to that, I've been thinking about taking the online course of UCLA of C++ )
after that, I don't know what to do:
-may I apply for an internship position right after finishing the degree?(if this is the case, how can the GRE help me to achieve an internship? what kind of tips would you give me to increase the chances taking into account that I come from a local university?)
- may I go ahead to a master in quantitative finance (or MFE) or rather to a master in finance (as I'm an economics student I don't really know my chances to get into a MFE).
those are my doubts, if you have any other suggestion , please just say it. I'm a bit lost and afraid as well.
thank you so much
out of curiousity, where in Spain? I'm currently studying abroad and interning in Madrid.
