Considering transferring to increase chances to break into IB

I’m a second semester freshman with a 3.83 gpa at a non-target school. Most of the stuff I see/read says that if you’re not at a target/semi-target school you’re basically screwed if you want to get into IB. Is it worth considering transferring to a semi-target/target school as I would be a second semester sophomore at the time of transferring if I was to transfer (think NYU, UMich, UT Austin, UChicago and Villanova if that’s considered a semi-target). I know networking is a huge part of it but I feel as if I was to be at a semi-target/target school my chances would be much better.

I am applying to UVA as well, forgot to include it. As far as ECs go I am in an investment banking club and trading and investment club at my school. I am doing a finance internship right now and have an Audit internship over the summer which I feel is a waste since I want to go into investment banking but I figured any experience is better than none. I am also in the process of finishing the Wall Street Prep premium financial modeling course.

Columbia is acc relatively transfer friendly compared to schools of similar prestige
