Double Major in Philosophy

from what i hear, double majoring doesnt really give you an edge when going for investment banking jobs (correct me if im wrong) but it does help for MBA school

i really dont like econ very much but im majoring in it because i have to. for a double major, id like to do something i find more interest--philosophy or political science. but this means having to take more classes and sacrifice the ability to graduate a quarter early, so ill only do it if it helps me in some way.

would double majoring in philosophy significantly help my chances for a top business school down the line? or would they not care because it is not quantitative?

thanks

I'm a double major in Phil and Econ. I'm not sure about how it will influence MBA admissions. What I will say is that my final interview to get the summer analyst stint I completed last summer was with the global head of the sponsors group at a BB. He was a philosophy major many years ago and we talked about my abroad experience at Oxford doing philosophy most of the interview. Philosophy is what I love doing in school and it tangentially paid off when I was trying to crack into banking.

so if i can get a 3.5+ in Econ+Philosophy it would give me a better chance at a top business school than a 3.5+ in just Econ? i find philosophy a lot easier than econ, so it might even help my gpa.

the only thing is, i would have to cram those classes into my the remaining quarters, which would be very difficult and result in a much harder courseload for me, especially since im taking next quarter off to do a field studies program. is the double major really worth it?
