Fall Recruiting for a 09 Graduate
What scares me is that peers from my non-target school in the NE from 2008 are still seeking work. I was on the phone with a Goldman HR contact and learned that they didn't recommend us going back to campus for recruiting. GS was looking for a "different set."
I got my final, frustrating rejection from a financial software firm for not "being an optimal fit." After learning there were over 200 applicants.
I also learned there was 1 course holding my graduation back, where my professor didn't bother to change an incomplete grade. This marks my graduation for September 2009.
So what should I do? Change my resume to Fall 2009 graduation? Because this is technically correct.
I have the huge regret that I didn't change my graduation date to 2010 last semester in April (a 5 minute procedure at the Registrar's), when I was disqualified for an internship at a major IM firm for being a senior. Being honest/candid in interviews has never helped me, and I really need a job (just like all the other kids out there).
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
