How does recruiting for entry-level roles in Big 4 Consulting, TAS and valuation work?

I'm coming from a non-target state school heavily recruited by the Big 4 for audit and tax, but I'm interested in consulting, TAS, and/or valuation in hopes of leveraging it into a better role in PE or IB (I know the chances are incredibly low, but I believe at least in the case of TAS and valuation, you learn transferable and relevant skills and for all three the Big 4 ain't the worst place to move up the ladder and take a shot at becoming a partner/making enough connections to get a nice, cushy job in industry).

I haven't seen anything on my schools job board or from the career center about recruiting for these roles, and advisers and accounting majors are no more help.

Looking at job postings from the Big 4 themselves, it seems they are only really recruiting for people who already have experience in the field.

I was wondering therefore if entry-level, analyst roles are even available in these arms of the Big 4 and other large accounting firms? And if they are, is it a school problem? Or more so you have to make use of an extensive network to even be aware of the opportunity?
