Imposter Syndrome
Don't even have an offer yet but at a semi-target and have worked my ass to go keep a 4.0 my entire freshman year. As I get into recruiting for the IB club and IB recruiting next year, I can't help but feel like maybe I'm not good enough for this. I hear from some of my mentors about some 'cracked kids' they've seen in my class. Despite checking all the boxes like not being a complete bot(at least i hope lmao), 4.0, search fund internship, planning on studying technical in the summer, I'm questioning my ability for this.
Would love to head other's thoughts - Students, current bankers, etc. Preesh
You'll probably soon notice that "cracked" for a freshman is studying technicals for a few weeks. Your mentors likely have low expectations for freshmen as they are freshmen after all. Being competent technically is 95% putting the time in and 5% intelligence. I felt similarly to you going into my internship and was shocked at the incompetency of the other interns so don't let it get you down. Keep grinding, you're on the perfect track so far.
I wouldn’t focus on everyone man, literally just focus on doing anything and everything you can do. At the end of the day things will either work out or they won’t; either way you are smart enough to move from that point to the next. In the end you will somewhere that’s great for you because of that.
