Investment Management Analyst - How hard is it to get a job?

So for the past 7 months or so I've been working as a registered rep for a broker/dealer and I don't enjoy it. I've come to dislike working for 100% commission but I still want to work in the financial industry (Granted I'm sure some won't consider a registered rep as really working in finance). I was looking at places like JP Morgan and such in NYC and saw listings for various Investment Management Analysts and I was wondering how difficult it is to get these types of jobs. The requirements seem relatively low.

Such as:

"We seek candidates who have a strong quantitative background, client orientation and a passion for investing, demonstrated through prior experiences. Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills are important, as well as demonstrated quantitative and technical abilities. In general, it is preferred that you have taken at least one course in financial accounting or had exposure in some practical way to financial analysis/mathematics. Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.2."

Or

"Paramount skills for this position are attention to detail, methodical approach to problem solving, highly numerate, and strong interest in financial markets. Best candidate would be one who is self-motivated, able to execute on objectives, focused on goals/results and is a team player. A large part of this role requires liaisons with numerous groups within JPMAM, therefore strong interpersonal skills are crucial.

Ideal experience for this position does not require any previous investment management experience per se, but experience from some realm of the investment process support could be beneficial. Most importantly the candidate should possess the aptitude and the desire to learn things quickly.

The candidate should also possess strong technical skills, particularly in MS Excel. Familiarity with Bloomberg is helpful. Coding experience preferred."

I graduate with a little under a 3.5GPA, but my degree was in international business. But with my degree I took 2 accounting classes, a financial accounting course, and other international finance courses. Is this something I could get into? Is my degree going to hold me back? Will my experience as a registered rep help any? I'm looking for jobs in NYC if that means anything. Are there certain things I should refresh myself on before applying?

I really appreciate any help you guys can give, I've been a lurker on the board for a while but just made an account finally and just trying to get a feel if I'm out of expertise and don't have a prayer or if it's something I have a chance at with the idea I would refresh myself on some of the accounting stuff i learned since most of that I took in my first year or two.
