Is it Time to Panic?
Current sophomore, female non-diversity, at a sort of semi - target small new england LAC. Landed a sophomore internship in finance but not banking.
I have been networking pretty hard 3+ calls a week since January. Had an early recruiting round at a BB and a great superday but didn't get the offer (was invited to reapply in august). I am starting to get nervous, it feels like places are closing and I am not getting first rounds. I had MD's pull for me at a couple EB's but never heard back. I am running out of school alumni to connect with and feel like networks have been exhausted.
I am looking for some guidance, if I don't land a SA 2025 position in the next 3 weeks is it over? I have heard banks doing more recruiting later in the spring and summer, is that still the case with IB becoming so competitive for internships?
I am not discouraged, highly motivated and fully committed to making it work despite the challenge of not being at a target school and not having a finance degree. What are your guy's thoughts? How do I make it happen?
Given that you said Small LAC in N.E., I'm assuming Nescac school. If you feel like you have exhausted your own school's network, definitely reach out to folks from other Nescac schools. You'd be shocked how many ppl even from Amherst/Williams are willing to help another Nescac student along, especially if you are well prepared and personable.
Second, banks recruit basically until the start of the summer, with another window opening in september-nov(ish). Can have great experiences over the summer at a small/regional boutique and do your best to lateral/recruit FT to a larger shop.

yes it is nescac! Great advice and I will definitely keep that in mind!!!
