Is the door closed
Hello everyone, I’m currently a college grad and I did a summer analyst internship with a private bank and I really enjoyed it but I ended up taking a full time corporate banking job post college as the mindset was that it would open more doors and I wanted to have as many open as possible to start off my career. I was never interested in IB and PE type work and preferred the good wlb jobs hence why I ended up with those two.
How feasible would it be to rotate back into the private banking field to get a junior/associate level position where I can have an opportunity to learn from established advisors and learn the business. For reference I’m targeting the fee based fiduciary RIA’s and PB NOT the commission based wealth management shops. It is to my understanding that those positions are hard to come by in the first place hence my question here. Would a banks PB value that I have a pb internship and a corp banking experience or would I have a hard time returning to the industry.
