Is this stupid?

Hi all, just started my analyst stint at a B5 bank in group that routinely sends a lot of laterals to the US.

Ideally I want to end up in the the US (because Canada is terrible; praising Nazi’s in parliament, etc) and seeing the influx of illegal migrants gaining temporary citizenship in NY and how hard it is to recruit in the US if you’re not a citizen, would it be worth going down to the US and “seeking asylum.”

Obviously this is mostly a joke but wondering how feasible it would be if I just slid in an application while NY is mass printing temporary citizenships so the migrants can work.

Even if you had one of these “temp citizenships” would you still be eligible for working in finance?

I’m not expert on immigration process but I don’t see any downside to this? Maybe just the application fee + some time. Just make sure if you get accepted you don’t immediately lose your current job in Canada by being a foreign national. We’d be happy to have you.

Trudeau is unfortunately screwing your country… sorry. Stinks to watch from a couple hundred miles south of you guys. Hope we all learn from it…
