Low GPA Top School

So I am a rising junior at a top UG biz school. Due to some circumstances and mistakes on my part my GPA has been pretty low. I am currently doing everything I possibly can and think a 2.8 - 2.9 cumulative can be achieved by the end of fall semester for recruiting. Do I stand any chance of landing a decent internship with this sort of GPA? I am not particularly aiming for a bulge, some experience at a decent firm will be enough for me perhaps some MM or a boutique. Also how would graduating with a 3.1 - 3.2 cumulative affect me? Again, some sort of experience is key and landing a job at GS or the like is not that big of a concern to me, coming back from a GPA low of 2.3 and getting in the 3's while landing a decent job would be amazing for me.

Thank You

i know most sales and trading jobs dont care much about gpa at all. i know people in high 2.x range who have gotten these, and ive had interviewers tell me they dont carea bout gpa as well.

what sucks is that youll be right at 2.9... if only you could bump it up to 2.95 and have a 3.0, it would be worth putting on your resume and you would have a shot at some MM/boutiques.

i think S&T is your best bet if youre at all interested in that. i know someone who did S&T junior year and then got a FT job at a MM his senior year, and his gpa is pretty crappy as well.

best of luck

Perhaps im completely delusional, but I find it hard to believe that no bank, even MM or boutique wouldnt hire someone unless they had a 3.5 even from a top school? Here's to hoping things are better in 2 years.
