Non-target majoring in Math and Statistics in Asia. Do I have no chance?

I feel like I got the short end of the stick in all aspects.

  1. Located in Asia Pacific

  2. Studying Math - mediocre GPA

  3. Top 1 in Malaysia but still not a target school among NUS, NTU, Tokyo.

Any advice? Future looks extremely bleak since this is the only high-paying job for my major. Right now, I am very desperate and my plan B is to further my studies and hope to get accepted in a real target university for postgrad.

Actually, I feel super embarrassed to ask this but I am quite frustrated with the job hunt. I only posted this question because I could not find any information on WSO regarding quantitative finance for my specific geographic location. 1. Pursue my masters 2. Finance jobs with less focus on quantitative skills (Back-office roles).
