Non target no internships. Any people who’ve been in a similar predicament but made it out?

From nyc, graduated 2022 from an upstate non target with a 3.5 in business. Wasn’t able to secure an internship. Have been working for an insurance company servicing a book of business for little under a year. I have been applying to finance jobs in nyc/upstate most of them being back office since I graduated. I had two interviews so far but couldn’t land them. Has anyone had a similar situation and if so how did you break through? Any advice would be appreciated also

I would focus on networking and building a relationship with people in an industry/company you are interested in (also be realistic). It is easier to convey your story and goals through conversation vs a resume, especially if you do not have strong internships.

I'd find firms I was interested at working at and reach out to alumni/athletes/people from homestate/etc. I wouldn't be afraid to reach out to people who you have no connection with but it will yield a low response rate.

I have done that, haven’t had many responses but I’ll keep at it. Hopefully worst case I get some advice from people in the field I want to be in. Thanks for the advice bro
