Study Abroad or Corporate Internship

For context, I’m a rising sophomore at a semi-target interested in LevFin IB out of undergrad and I’m a non-diversity candidate so I don’t believe I qualify for any Summer 2024 internships hosted by banks (correct me if I’m wrong).

With that said, I need something to talk about for my sophomore summer and I’ve narrowed it down to these two general avenues:

  1. I would take on a finance-related role at a smaller company/ startup (I already live in the Silicon Valley area).

  2. I could study additional coursework abroad at
a school overseas (hopefully LSE or something similar)

Neither are set in stone as I still need to conclude the application process for both, but I’m curious which option would be the best experience for
interviewing/ setting me up for future success.

Any advice is appreciated!
