The best way to find relevant alumni for networking

Currently trying to reach out to alumni for a summer internship as an incoming freshman at UChicago.

Ideally I'd like to learn from / work for someone who is based in either LA (hometown) or Chicago (try to organize on-campus housing) and runs a smaller sized fund of some sort (this seems more realistic than getting a SA position at a BB or something as an incoming freshman).

What's the best way to network / look for a connection in this regard? LinkedIn seems fine but it doesn't seem like I can screen alumni for what I'm looking for.

Thanks for your help boys
